The Librehacks and DistanceHacks team is proud to announce an event being hosted the weekend of May 1st, designed to expose students to computer-science and programming during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of online learning, students have lost opportunities to gain knowledge and attend events. DistanceHacks is open to all students without restrictions, and the event is free of cost for all participants.
This event is designed to replicate a hackathon, a multi-day event when students compete by completing programming projects. In addition, they have the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars to expand their computer science knowledge. As such, students participating in DistanceHacks will have access to resources and lessons taught by event organizers and industry mentors. Additional resources will be open to students looking for assistance, and there will even be chances to participate in community events, such as games or group activities.
More information about the event and the registration form can be found at www.distancehacks.com.
